  • The most common commercial insurance providers include Aetna, Anthem, BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare.
  • After pre-approval, like with any medical procedure, you can typically expect to pay the cost of any unmet deductible for the year, along with any copay or coinsurance amounts that your plan requires for a procedure.
  • Your doctor and insurance provider can answer any specific coverage and out-of-pocket cost questions.

  • The Paradise procedure may be covered for active-duty military members and veterans with pre-approval on a case-by-case basis.
  • This includes Tricare, VA, and Veterans Choice.

The Paradise procedure may not be right for you if you haven’t been diagnosed with hypertension or you are able to successfully control your blood pressure with lifestyle changes and medications.

Needing a referral depends on the hospital or medical facility policies in your area or your insurance policy. In most cases, a referral isn’t needed.

Before your insurance provider covers certain treatments, they may require your doctor to get approval first. This pre-approval is called Prior Authorization.

Prior Authorization helps your insurance provider confirm that a treatment is medically necessary for you and is covered by your plan. Your doctor’s hospital will support you through the insurance pre-approval process. If your hospital doesn’t have an insurance team and your doctor is partnering with our Patient Access team, we can help navigate and support your insurance coverage process for the Paradise procedure.

Typically, the pre-approval process doesn’t require any action from you besides signing a few forms and confirming your doctor has your insurance information.

After your eligibility is confirmed, your doctor will submit your case to the Recor Patient Access Team. Our team will submit your claim to your insurance provider and work directly with your doctor.

If you’re approved, your doctor will contact you to schedule your Paradise procedure. This process typically takes 15-30 business days.
